Life is a gift that is sacred and precious. In life we experience good and bad, pain and pleasure, victory and defeat. From experience, we know that life comes with ups and downs particularly on this side of heaven. I believe that we are not only supposed to live life for ourselves but to glorify God and help our fellow man if we can.
We have to be aware of the decisions we make with our lives because each choice comes with accountability. In addition, we have to become people of moral and ethical value since these traits are lacking in society.
As I get older, I try to make every personal important decision count for the benefit of someone or something else and not just for myself. Life is not meant to take all the time, it is meant to give as well. I’m not speaking of only monetary giving. I’m referring to giving of yourself: mind, heart, time, energy.
A life that matters is a life that makes an impact or a difference not only in one’s life but in the lives of others. If we are honest with ourselves, we will accept the fact that we were all prideful, selfish and unconcerned about others. As times get tougher, have you noticed how dark hearted some people have become? Obviously there is no such thing as an infallible man. It just appears that we are living too shallow lives and could care less about what matters most.
In conclusion, we live in a world of hurting, needy and broken people. We cannot fix the world’s problems especially without God but we can do something to help someone else. A life that matters is a life that favors the righteous cause of God. As we reach out to others, I believe God will reach out to us. Bless to be blessed, love others even though they hate you and don’t know why. God is the creator of life and he wants you to live a life that matters.
