Is building a business offline still effective?

network-marketing-offline-image

In today’s post, I want to talk about whether or not building your business offline is still effective. Currently, there is a train of thought in the industry that says old school network marketing is dead. Many online “gurus” say that cold calling is dead or the three feet rule is old news. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those strategies still work and always will as long as people exist. No someone may say “wait a minute, I live in a town of only a thousand people, how could that work for me”? The answer is to use online strategies, work your town and go out of town if that is realistically doable.

In my opinion, attraction marketing doesn’t mean that you completely disregard human interaction. Network marketing is still a face to face business. If you think about it, all of the top seven figure earners in MLM built their business offline first and used attraction marketing to leverage their success and credibility. I’m a fan of online network marketing by all means. I just believe that traditional marketing produces results because we are in the people business. People are online and offline.

I also believe that what you are marketing makes a difference. Some products and services are better promoted offline. For example if you have a physical product that you can give out as a sample  you will have better success. People love the free things so all you have to do is give your product out. Online, people are a little reluctant to give you their personal information. This is because they do not know you and you lack credibility.

In conclusion, building your business online is still effective because people still like to interact with each other. Can you imagine a world where there is no human contact and everything you need must be done online? No matter whether you are doing offline or online marketing, you still have to sell. Unfortunately, many online marketers think you don’t have to sell. That’s simply not true. You are selling business systems, sales funnels. Don’t allow technology to rob you of building real and lasting relationships.

A Dream That Can’t Be Shattered

image.jpeg

Dreams are imaginations that you project in your mind. They are desires or fantasies that we usually wish to become a reality. We all have dreams. We have them for ourselves and we have them for our family. Dreams are a part of what makes people get out of bed in the morning. No one can fulfill our dreams for us. It is our duty and responsibility. Sometimes, people say discouraging things to shatter your dreams. Often times, it’s because they have don’t have any themselves. Ambitious people have dreams that can’t be shattered.

image

Its hard to beat a man who doesn’t give up. His dreams are too important to settle for mediocrity. Focus on where you want to go, then plan accordingly. You have a dream that can’t be shattered. A dream that’s worth the grind. You’ll realize that your dream is not just about you. It’s about the millions of lives that will be changed.

image

Many people have allowed their dreams to become nightmares. This is due to a lack of action, wrong network and negative mindset. It is also important to understand that a dream without a plan is just a wish. Many people have been wishing for too long. Wishing this would work, wishing things would get better. A dream that can’t be shattered makes things work, makes things better. Many communities are stricken with lack not only because of less resources. They are so due to a lack of dreaming and planning. You have a dream that can’t be shattered.

Brand Yourself

image

Branding yourself is important if you are seeking to establish yourself as a leader. This is especially true online. Nowadays, it is not enough just to promote a product. You must promote yourself. There is a difference between marketing and branding. Marketing is about getting exposure and expanding it for a particular product or service. Branding involves establishing your credibility and authority in the marketplace. In essence, you are stating that you are the leader that people are looking for. It is important to understand that the people who make the most money in business, branded themselves first.

image

If you look in many of the Facebook groups, people are spamming their opportunity. Spamming clearly doesn’t work. If you and I are in the same company, promoting the same product, what separates you from me? Nothing! However, if I brand myself, that will make all the difference. This is what you want to do. If a company goes bankrupt, you can start another organization and continue to do well because you branded yourself. Mr. Donald Trump went bankrupt several times yet, he’s a billionaire. That’s because he first branded himself through knowledge. He knows how to make money and does it. Banks will still loan him money because he doesn’t need it. Did you catch that? Brand yourself. Everyone who is successful branded themselves. That’s why having a blog is important. You may be saying to yourself, “everyone has a blog!”. True, but not all bloggers are unique.

image

In closing, brand yourself. You inc is what counts. Have you ever heard of ITL? It stands for Invest, Learn, Teach. This is what successful brands do. Create some form of content that can be shared. As you consistently share value, which is what many people don’t do, you will attract more people to your brand.

Why talking to most friends and family about network marketing doesn’t work

oh no not you again image

When you first get started in network marketing, you get excited about your company. You think you hit the lottery. You probably met some sponsor who promised you the moon. You were then told to make a list of customers and team builders. This list is comprised of family, friends and associates. The list is also known as your warm market. I have mentioned the following reasons why talking to most friends and family, about network marketing doesn’t work.

Your sponsor told you to ask them “the questions”, give them samples and get them to a meeting. All of which work depending on the kind of influence you have. The problem is that most people have no influence and/or affluence. Which partly explains why people quit so soon. A lack of influence is one of the reasons why talking to friends and family about network marketing doesn’t work. When you have influence, people will listen more to what you say. So if you lack influence, talking to friends and family about your network marketing business probably won’t work. You must build in influence by branding yourself and getting exposure.

Another reason why talking to most friends and family doesn’t work is because they “tried one of those things and it didn’t work”. Network marketing is a business that requires work. When you join an MLM, you have to work your business consistently. Nothing magically happens overnight. Your results will always depend on what you are doing.

A third reason is because they do not understand the concept of MLM. Network marketing is an organization of people who use and retail high quality products offered through their company. In addition, they get paid for building an organization of people who do the same. This is the basic concept of MLM. No overhead, low expenses and exponential potential to create wealth.

A fourth reason is due to a negative frame of reference. Sadly, some of the most negative people are the ones in your household. While you are seeking change, they want to remain the same. Most family and friends have the crabs in the barrel mentality. As you try to climb your way up out of the barrel, another crab tries to pull you down. They make such statement such as “you can’t do that” and “go get a real job”. These are very discouraging words to hear from someone you love. Nevertheless, we move forward regardless.

In conclusion, these are some of the reasons why talking to most friends and family about network marketing doesn’t work. Obviously, there are net workers who sponsor their loved ones into their business with no problem. I believe you should prospect your immediate people. Usually, siblings and companions will join when you start making money. I feel that the core of the problem is their unbelief. Relatives do not believe that success is possible with MLM. The ole saying goes: some will, some won’t, so what, someone else is waiting. Keep building.

Much Success

Dreams Don’t Fail, People Do

doubt kills more dreams images

Perhaps, your dream is to become a speaker, entrepreneur or educator. Somehow, things didn’t work out that way. You say to yourself, maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Instead of becoming what you wanted, you became what you didn’t want. So you gave up on your dreams. There is a popular quote that says, if you don’t have dreams, you will continue to work for those who do.

When I got into my business, my sponsor told me that “this business is 80%mental and 20% physical. He then told me that I would quit on him before he quit on me. I thought about that statement. I realized that dreams don’t fail, People do. It’s amazing how we quit our business and say it failed me. I think it is more noble to say I failed instead of my business failed. If someone is succeeding in the same business you’re failing in, it’s not the business. It’s you!

We give up on our business, we give up on our marriage, we give up on life. Is there anything we don’t give up on? We must get rid of the “I will try it for a month to see what happens mentality”. Our dreams don’t fail us we fail our dreams. It is always easy to blame something or someone other than ourselves. This is because we don’t have the courage to admit we failed. In the past, I joined many business programs to support my dreams. I made lots of mistakes and quit. I did not regard the value that was offered to me. Today, it’s a different story.

In conclusion, dreams don’t fail, people do. We are the ones responsible for fulfilling our dreams. They will not get realized without our effort. When it’s all said and done, the person responsible for any failure is you. Leaders accept success and failure. Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream. So should you.

Your Mindset Is Your Asset

your mind is your asset image

When you think of the word asset, you think of things that are tangible and real. An asset, is something that puts money in your pocket. A liability is something that takes money from your pocket. There is an asset that is the greatest of all assets. That asset is your mind.

There is a battle for the mind. It is where all decisions take place. I read an advertisement on the side of a bus that said “corporations control your mind”. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something, including yourself. Obviously, there are certain physical limitations. However, success begins in the mind and so does failure.

Your mindset is your asset. It can help you live a life of fulfillment or a life of regrets. Personally, I have had my share of regrets, personally and financially. But, what you think about, you bring about. Unfortunately, much of society prefers to have their thinking done for them. No matter what investments you have on the stock market, your best investment will always be your mind.

There is an old adage that says a mind is a terrible thing to waste. How many people do you know who are wasting their minds? Instead of using our minds as an asset, we are turning them into liabilities. The name of the game is control. The control we give, the more control we lose. In conclusion, your mind is your asset. It is the vehicle in which you can create personal change. Use your asset to think and decide for yourself. Your mind is a tool that will work for you. If you neglect it, it will work against you.

What Leaders Do That Non-Leaders Don’t

leader images

There are several things that leaders do that non leaders don’t. First off, there are good leaders and there are bad leaders. Dr. Martin Luther King was a good leader. Adolph Hitler was a bad leader. When you go into business, you automatically assume the role of a leader. It is your responsibility to learn, grow and show. There are activities that you the leader should be doing consistently. I will cover some of those activities and hopefully share something new with you.

Leaders are readers.

As a leader, you should be reading a book or article of some kind relating to your field of interest. Books on personal development, leadership and marketing is appropriate. Technology is constantly changing. What worked yesterday may not work today. That is why reading these kinds of books are important. Non leaders refuse to read because they either think they know it all or are just lazy.

Leaders lead by example.

This means you are on trainings, creating content and communicating with people. As an individual of influence, you should never ask someone to do something that you are not willing to do yourself. Leaders step up to the plate. Non leaders make excuses for why they are not getting the activities done.

Leaders think about moving forward.

Leaders are always in production mode. Even on vacation, they are observant of the next prospective candidate. Leaders think and plan the next course of action to take. They have a vision for where they want to go in life. There is really no such thing as a day off. Their motto is, time is not money, time is results.

In conclusion, leaders do what non leaders don’t. These individuals set the bar and then raise it. Leaders take action in order to obtain a desired result. Once obtained, they raise the bar higher to get a better result than the first. Do what leaders do to have where leaders have.
