Can you succeed on social media without any credibility?

One of the questions people have when they are first starting out in business is, can they succeed on social media without any credibility. That’s a very important question to ask because many people want to use social media as a platform for their products and services.

They want to succeed using social marketing because that’s where billions of people are. They want to learn what it takes to win online every time.

Unfortunately, I do not recall reading or watching sufficient content that addresses this matter. As a result, I am going to do my best to answer the question objectively and logically.

So again, the question is can you succeed on social media without any credibility. The answer is both yes and no. I’ll explain my double answer.

Yes you can: 

-if you have have a budget. You have to think of yourself as a multinational corporation. What big business do you know of that doesn’t have a marketing budget? If you’re building a business even online, it doesn’t mean that you don’t need a budget. Successful social media marketers use financial resources to expand their reach and influence. So must you.

I know what you’re thinking. You watched a video of someone who built a six figure business without using any advertising money. Well you and I don’t know ALL of what they did to build that business. So in my opinion, you need to invest some money to build your business. Especially when competition online is greater now than it was years ago.

-if you create content. ILT stands for Invest, Learn, Teach. As a entrepreneur on social media, you should be creating some kind of content that addresses the problems that people are having online regarding their business. Some of those problems could be lead generation, marketing strategies and so on. Content is king. Where do people go for content? Social media. If you create engaging content, you will be successful even if you don’t have any credibility.

No you can’t:

-if you think you can spam your way to success. The majority of internet marketers spam their links all over social media. This is not the way to become successful on social media. This tactic does not increase your credibility, it destroys it. In addition, it makes the marketer look desperate. Why would someone send a link to another person who did not request it? Social media is about being social first and business second. People are smart. They know you have some kind of business that you’re promoting.  They just don’t want to spammed with it. Spam will get your business canned.

-if you promote your company products all over social media. This part has been talked about a lot in many articles and videos. Yet, people still use this as their main marketing strategy. Most network marketing consumable  products have a similar health benefit. So people are not necessarily going to join you because of the products. They are going to join you because they like your uniqueness. Furthermore, your knowledge is what is going to attract them to you because they feel you can help them, not your product. Hope that makes sense.

In conclusion, You can succeed on social media without any credibility. It depends on the time AND money you invest in yourself and business. You get out what you put in plain and simple. Too many people expect to become an overnight sensation on social media and it doesn’t work that way. You will pay your dues especially when no one knows you. Why Most people don’t make any money online.

If you’re like most of us, you came across an advertisement that says learn how you can make x amount of dollars per month. You probably thought it was a scam but you went ahead and took a look at it. You read some testimonials of people who were getting great results but were not sure if you could get them. Maybe those folks are the lucky ones you thought. They probably have a “hook up” you pondered.

While it is normal to have some skepticism, it is abnormal to  be completely close minded especially without doing any objective research. I want to talk about why people don’t make any money online and hopefully shed some light on the matter. I will also talk about the solution to making money online.

Okay, so here’s why most people don’t make any money online:

  1. They think everything is a scam– yes there are a lot of scams online. However, it is YOUR responsibility to do your own due diligence to find out which ones are scams are which ones are not. There are many wonderful opportunities that will allow you to realize your dreams and goals. But you have to examine the company, track record and owners of the company. In doing this often, you will be able to discern better.
  2. Push button mindset– This mindset probably affects about 90% of the marketers online. Sure it would be nice to push a button and get all the sales we want and become millionaires. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. It seems as if people brought their job mentality to free enterprise and expect to make it big overnight. If they didn’t make it big overnight at their jobs, what makes them think they’re gonna make it big overnight in their own business? Go figure. Furthermore, when they don’t make it big guess what they say? I knew it was a scam.
  3. Don’t want to invest any money in their business- It amazes me that people want to charge top dollar for their products and services but what all the training etc without any investment for free. Only broke people think like that. Real successful people know that they have to invest in themselves and their business. They know that there’s no such thing as everything for nothing in return. While there are good resources that you can get for free, the best resources will cost you. One of the most important assets you have is time. Free will cost you time, paid will save you time. So invest in your business, this is not the lottery.
  4. Don’t want to work with a mentor-I think there was a song by Frank Sinatra titled ” I did it my way”. That’s exactly what most marketers agree to. They want to do it their way instead of working with someone who did it and got results with it. Entrepreneurs work with people who are better entrepreneurs than they are. They are called mentors. We all need mentors who can help us to become better. This is because we don’t know everything and require guidance especially in business. Most of us were taught to become employees by employees not entrepreneurs. In order to go from an employee to an entrepreneur, you need to taught by entrepreneurs.

In conclusion, These are the reasons why most people don’t make any money online. Making money online requires a plan and action consistently. Just like you went to school to consistently to get the degree for the profession you’re hopefully in, the same applies for the entrepreneur. You have to learn before you can earn. Why your company website is not enough.

When we first get started in network marketing, we are given a company replicated website to promote. Typically what we do is go online and start promoting the website on social media. The problem  with replicated websites is that we are all given the same one that says the same thing. Whether we realize it or not, these websites have been seen before. Most marketers are promoting them the wrong way which is one of the reasons people are not signing up.

If you want to sign people up online, please understand that it is going to require some work and ingenuity in many cases. After all, someone did tell them that they are going to make a million dollars in six months. As soon as that didn’t happen, they became reluctant about whether “those things” really work.

Company websites don’t work for the following reasons:

  1. Everyone has them– As mentioned above, if everyone has them, they have been seen before. You need to create pages that no one has used or very few people have used. More importantly, you need to have YOUR OWN message on the website, not a generic message.
  2. Can’t capture emails- company replicated websites can not capture emails so you can follow up with prospects through auto responding messages. The relationship is built and extended through short powerful messages that are created to  educate the prospect to make a decision  to get started. This is important because most people do not make quick business decisions.
  3. Don’t provide value- When I say no value, I’m not speaking of the health and/or financial benefits. I mean providing some content that shares tips on what’s needed to build a successful business.

 

In conclusion, hopefully you have a better understanding of why company replicated websites are not enough. If you are online promoting the same company websites with the same message, then more than likely when prospects sees it, they ignore it. You have to bring something different to the table of marketing. Instead of branding themselves, marketers are branding their companies. That doesn’t make sense because their companies are already branded.

Learn how to create capture pages and apply your own unique message on them. Learn how to create copy that provides solutions to your prospects problems. In addition, generate  leads, manage and follow up with them using this app. It’s like your own personal assistant that you download to your cellphone to keep you abreast of what’s going on in your business. The best thing about it, is that it doesn’t matter what business or product you’re promoting.

If you do this, you will win online. Just posting your link is not enough because everyone has a link. What is going to distinguish you from the rest?  You’ve got to invest in yourself and business. Learn and implement internet marketing strategies so you will have the results you’re looking for. Most people don’t have the time to build offline so online is the best course of action. Don’t be like the 90% who fail online. Do what the winners do to win.

Five things needed to build a successful online business

Many people have decided to work from home but online. Working online is by far the smartest decision you can make because it allows you the ability to leverage the internet. Over the last five years or so, the online business community has probably doubled in size. Before making a decision to build a business online, there are five things needed to start and grow a successful online business.

Belief

The first thing that is needed is Belief. You have to belief that you are able to become a successful entrepreneur. One of the reasons people quit on their dreams is because they do not belief in themselves. Furthermore, they do not believe in their products or services. If you do not believe in you how do you expect others to believe in you? By the way, no one should ever believe in you more than you believe in yourself. Your belief in yourself is detrimental to your success as an online entrepreneur, especially when there’s so much competition in the marketplace.

A good company

The second thing you need in order to build a successful online business is a good company. You need a company that has a proven track record of producing successful entrepreneurs. In addition, the company must be of good reputation with solid leadership. The success or failure of a company begins and ends with leadership. So make sure you have a good company.

Capture page

The third thing you need is a capture page. Since you are doing business online, you need a capture page to collect people names and email addresses in exchange for the information they requested. Hopefully, you want to collect their phone numbers so you can follow up with them via landline. There are many types of capture pages that you can customize if you prefer. You don’t need to be technical to create a page. Templates are already made so all you have to do is point and click.

Autoresponder

The fourth thing you will need in order to build a successful online business is an autoresponder. An autoresponder is a business tool that you use to follow up with prospective business partners and/or customers regarding your products and services. There are many autoresponders on the market however not all are created equal. If you are doing marketing online, you definitely need an autoresponder. If not, you are missing a vital part of building relationships with people who you could do business with.

Paid traffic

Last, but not least, you need paid traffic to build a successful business online. Many people, especially on Facebook, are trying to build their business using free strategies alone. That doesn’t work well if at all. This is because the market place is saturated with a variety of offers. Sadly, many marketers are promoting their websites in places that offer free promotion and guess what? Everyone else is doing the same thing. So what do you think the results are going to be? zero. If you are going to do a for free traffic strategy make sure you implement a paid traffic strategy. This is to support your free efforts until you no longer need paid efforts. Hope that makes sense. If you have no money to invest, you are going to have a difficult time and probably need to get a second job or something to pay for traffic.

Conclusion

These five things will assist you to have a successful online business. All five are essential and cannot be neglected. Success online requires a consistent work ethic. There are more people online than there were five years ago. You are competing for the attention of people who are already bombarded with a variety of offers. Be willing to stand out from the competition and do what it takes to succeed online.

A question people have, is do you need a marketing budget to succeed in an online business. Well, the answer to that question is no. I’ll explain why. The reason why you do not need a marketing budget is because of social media. All over the Internet, people are making hundreds of thousands of dollars using free strategies on the Internet. All you need to do is pick a platform that you want to build on and master it. The key is to consistently provide value to your target market.

Video

Video is hot right now and more and more people are realizing the power of making videos. Making videos will help you to grow as an entrepreneur as you provide valuable content to your viewers. Best of all, you can record and share your videos for free. No budget required.

Blogging

Even though everyone and their mom has a blog, blogging is still a good choice. Blogging just like video, can be done without any marketing budget. You can provide ideas and solutions that helps your reader. Blogging is a great way to draw people to you so they can learn more of what you do. Your blog should be packed with content. You can collect leads and recruit people off of your blog!

Relationships

The best of them all, is relationships. The reason I say the best is because connecting with people is what counts. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how many people did you connect with. Building relations cost you nothing especially on Facebook. Whether your business is online or not, you are in the people business. Relationships count.

Does Posting In Facebook Groups Really Work?

Does posting in Facebook groups really work? That must be the ten thousand dollar question. I believe there are two answers to that question and I will explain why. Yes, posting in Facebook groups work. However, it depends on what and where you’re posting. If you look on Facebook, you’ll notice people posting negativity along with their business opportunity. You can’t mix the sweet and the sour together because it sends the wrong message to your prospects.

What works on Facebook? Inspirational/motivational quotes. They are awesome for personal and business matters. You can get them online however, I do believe you should create your own as well. This is what separates the leaders from the followers although we all start off as followers. If you want to brand yourself on Facebook, you must post information that provides value. Many people look for posts to share on their timeline that promotes empowerment. As you share value, people will begin to comment and direct message you saying thanks for the inspiration!

What doesn’t work on Facebook? Spam. From time to time, someone will post an income program on my timeline. I consider it spam because I did not request it. Nor did I give permission for it to be posted on my page. I also learned that mesaging people who you are not friends with about your business opportunity is also spam. Please stop this. No matter how many times the following statement is preached, people still don’t get it: build relationships first BEFORE sending your link. If someone wants your link, they will ask for it. Just because someone accepts your friend request, does not mean you should send them your unsolicited link. There is nothing wrong with building rapport and asking first. Spamming in Facebook groups doesn’t work because everyone is doing the same thing. Most groups are nothing but spam fests. If a prospect visits these groups, he or she would be confused.

In conclusion, does posting in Facebook groups really work? Yes if you are providing value and no, if you’re not. It depends on what and where you’re posting. Unfortunately, some of these groups are useless. Around 80% of your content should be value based and 20% should be promotion. When you do this, you will be looked upon as a leader not a spammer.

Face book is the king of social media. Everyone and their mother seems to be on it. The top three most visited sites are Google, You Tube and of course, face book. Most entrepreneurs advertise their business program all over face book. I’ve done this myself, then stopped. I saw too many people already doing the same thing. In addition, the majority of the programs were the same. Think about this: if ten people are advertising the same business, what separates them from each other?

Why should I join John’s business instead of Joe’s program? This is the question that many prospects have. It is difficult for them to make a decision. It is also a face book mistake that marketers make online. Let’s talk about Face book marketing mistakes.

Face book marketing mistake #1: Advertising the same training programs.

On many face book business pages, reps advertise the same products. Even though their products offer value, there is no difference that would make someone want to join. Instead of advertising the same merchandise out right, mask it with your content. Furthermore, your content should be original.

Face book marketing mistake #2: Not building relationships.

It is a well known fact that people do not like to be sold. When you mention your business at the initial contact, it raises a red flag in your prospect’s mind. When you focus on building a relationship over time, you will begin to gain your prospect’s trust. If your prospect wants some information about your business, all they have to do is look at your face book page or ask you about it.

Face book marketing mistake #3: Getting too personal with prospects at the beginning.

Prospecting online has the same objective as prospecting offline. You want to see if your prospect is open to viewing some business information. The problem is that new distributors are trying to get too personal with prospects upfront. Even after you build relations, understand that it’s a business relationship. Personal relationships are different and require quality time. People naturally will not let you into their lives until they trust you completely. You do not need to know where your prospect’s wife works or the name and location of their kids school. That’s not a question to ask especially on face book.
