Why most people have a hard time building their business.

image

There is nothing more frustrating than wanting to build a business but getting no where. It seems like your dreams are rapidly fading before your very eyes. We know that building a business is hard however, we didn’t think it was this hard.

People have a hard time building their business for several reasons. I will go over some of the reasons that I have experienced. Building a business can seem like a daunting task. Friends and family offering ridicule etc.

so here are some of the reasons why people are having a hard time building their business:

No daily routine or lack of a daily activity.

If you want to succeed in business, you need a plan of action. At the end of the day, how many people did you talk to, mail samples/business info to? how many calls did you make? How many samples did you give out? If you are not moving forward in your business, you are moving backward by default.

Afraid to talk to strangers.

When we where young, we were told not to talk to strangers. It is no wonder why as adults, we don’t like to talk to strangers! There are times when we just don’t want to talk to anyone, but the big money is made dealing with people you don’t know. Of course only talking to friends and family will cause you to have a hard time in business. There are hundreds, even thousands of people who possibly want what you have to offer. But you gotta talk to them.

Unable to offer samples of the company product.

One thing people love is the word free. People love trying new products for free. Unfortunately, many companies do not offer a free service or product that consumers can try before they buy. This is not to say that you can’t do well if you don’t offer samples. I just believe that if you have a product that’s in big demand and you can offer as a sample such as this product, you will really do well faster depending on your work ethic etc.

No self belief or confidence.

Network marketing is a simple business. It’s not easy, but it’s simple. If you are going to have even a little bit of success, you must believe you can have it. The problem is most home business owners do not believe which is why their actions are a result of what they believe. You can read all of the books on confidence and belief but the only way to gain confidence and belief is to do that which you fear period.

Think they have to know it all.

Yet another reason why most people have a hard time building their business is because they think they need to know it all. Every company has a presentation be it an online video or DVD that you can use to educate a prospective candidate. You never need to know everything. Utilize tools to answer your prospects questions.

No money to invest in own business and oneself.

In business, you need to invest and re-invest in your business. There is really no such thing as something for nothing especially when you are thinking long term. It amazes me how so many people are looking for deals that require no initial investment on their part. You cannot have success with a real business unless you are willing to pay a price. The same goes for oneself. You should be reading books that motivate, educate and inspire you. Most companies offer a recommended reading list. The list is compiled with books that have influenced millions of men and women. You should be reading something regularly regarding business and personal development.

In conclusion, these are some of the reasons why most people have a hard time building their business. If you treat your business like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby. We have a hard time because we make it hard. A few simple disciplines will go a long way.

The six sins of network marketing

oh no not you again image

In networkmarketing, there are rules that you must follow in order to be successful in your business. If you deviate from the rules, you will become frustrated and quit. There are no shortcuts however, people continue to look for them. There are six sins of network marketing that will cost you time and money. The six sins goes as follows:

  1. Jumping from opportunity to opportunity.

I’ve been there. There are people who are in as much as five different companies. Usually what happens is a prospect joins a company and after a while, gets bored. So he or she finds another company to join and the cycle continues. A solid career can not be built this way.

2.  Marketing but not prospecting.

Network marketing activities includes prospecting. Most people spend more time marketing because it’s easier and less painful. Marketing is supposed to compliment your prospecting. You should have a set number of people that you will talk to everyday. This is called projecting. You are projecting the amount of people you will talk to daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. Will you meet your goals every day? Probably not. But you must hold yourself accountable to meet your numbers.

3.  Posting your company products, images all over social media.

Like I said in previous blog posts, people don’t care about your products as much as you do. Continuously posting pictures of your products will not move people to buy them. Every company has been seen before. Maybe not by you,but by someone else. What would make your products more valuable is if they were the only ones that could do what they claim. If that were so, there would be such a demand that manufacturers would have a hard time supplying the need.

4.  Making income claims and/or statements.

At some point or another, you or someone you know, received a call like this: “hi my name is Jill and I was given your name as someone who was looking to make 3 to 5000 dollars per week. Is that something your still interested in?”. When you make income claims, you push people away from you instead of pull. Most people are skeptical as it is, so making these kind of statements will contribute to the stigma on MLM.

5.  Un professionalism.

A big problem I see online from network marketers, is unprofessional behavior and language. This is a business and should be approached as a business. Ratchet, hood and ghetto behavior should be kept away from this industry. It has no place in this business. I suspect sponsors are looking to sign anyone up just to make a buck. I don’t mean to judge anyone, and I know people come from different walks of life. This is where personal development comes in. We must edify the industry with a positive mental and professional attitude.

6. Begging, chasing and convincing.

Network marketing is a profession of opportunity, prosperity and stability. You are not in the business of begging people to look at your opportunity. The key word is opportunity. It’s up to your prospects to recognize what you have. You have the goose that lays the golden eggs. Do not lower your dignity for the sake of getting someone to watch your presentation. Do not chase people around online. Short story, I was friends with a guy on Facebook. Every chat we had, he would try to convince me to join his program, saying “its only $18 to join, just sign up”. So I got fed up and unfriended him. He started sending me friend requests and I ignored them. Don’t beg, chase or convince people. If you do, you will convince them to stay.

In conclusion, these are the six sins of network marketing. There are more. When we commit these sins, we separate ourselves from success.

MLM Marketing Training

MLM marketing training is important for your network marketing business. The reason why is because the training will give you information that will assist you to get results in your business. One of the common complaints in home business is that I did everything my sponsor told me to do, I made a list of friends and family, I went to the malls and coffee shops. I did cold calling, gave out flyers and  I’m still not getting sales. This causes people to give up and believe that there is some special tip that is not disclosed to the network marketing industry.

Doing the above things still work but they do not work for everyone because our schedules and life vary from person to person. Network marketing is a business that either  punishes or rewards you for the career you had prior to network marketing. One of the reasons why some people advance quickly through the ranks is because they have a supportive warm market and business connections in their prior careers. They happen to be people of influence in many cases. Look at it like this, a person who is a director or manager in the corporate setting may have a rolodex of 1000 contacts. Because he is influential, he can make a phone call and get people to join him. In corporate America, people are making connections all day to advance their careers and companies. The average person doesn’t have those connections that’s why he or she is frustrated. For this reason, MLM marketing training is necessary to succeed in today’s network marketing era.

Another reason why you need marketing training is because a million people are promoting the same business program that you are marketing. Furthermore, there are millions more marketing something else. You are competing for the attention of your prospects along with other marketers. Why should they join you and not someone else?  Many networkers cannot answer that question so they continue to spam and pitch their business hoping to get someone to join them. You have to offer your prospect something that another marketer cannot. So because most network marketers have nothing else to offer besides a join me link, they continue to struggle. All of that can be changed with some marketing training.

In conclusion, we all need marketing training. We must be willing to learn and grow in order to succeed in MLM. This business is about building relationships. One of the best ways to build a relationship is to be a person of value and offer something for free. Your net worth is connected to your network. Your success is dependent on your personal development training and marketing training.

Don’t Get Distracted By Other Opportunities

image

When we get started in network marketing or affiliate marketing, we are on fire for the industry. We tell everyone we know about this great opportunity we just joined and how there is a ground floor opportunity for them if they sign up right now. Then after awhile, things begin to change. We no longer stay excited about our business program. Thoughts of quitting began to sink in. It’s time to join something else. Since we’re not making sales, it must be the company(not us). We start looking at the greener grass instead of getting off our a**. The problem is that we are not focused.

We read stories of how other people are crushing it and become envious. We all go through this in our networking careers. We join program after program and are still not making any money. Not even on our auto ship. Instead we become opportunity whores and don’t even know it. Don’t get distracted by other opportunities. Stay focused and build the one you are currently in. Do not allow other networkers discourage you from your MLM into theirs. I don’t care how great the compensation plan is.

image

If you can’t or won’t build your current business for whatever reason, you will have similar problems in any business you join. I’m just saying. A consistent work ethic is still required. It is also important to note that your product is not your product. Your product is people.

In conclusion, don’t get side tracked with different opportunities. Stay focused and build the one that you are currently in. Network marketing is a wonderful industry. So wonderful that it requires work. If another representative tries to smooth you over into his or her business, think about what why you got started in your company.

Why People Are So Skeptical About Your Home Business Opportunity

image

Why do you think people are so skeptical about your home business opportunity? It may not be your home business per se, it may the industry in general. Before you got started in your opportunity, you were probably skeptical also. You saw guys standing in front of rolls royces, mansion in the background, wearing thousand dollars suits right? You probably thought these guys were con artists or something. Furthermore, your brother in law got into one of those deals and lost his shirt on it. This is a common story for many people.

It is important to understand that there are good and bad business programs, just like anything else in life. It is your responsibility to get educated and use a little common sense so you will not lose your shirt. People naturally, are very skeptical. That’s just how it is. People think if something is too good to be true, it probably isn’t. Well the truth is, if something sounds to good to be true it probably is, assuming you have the right education. That’s the problem. People don’t have the right education. This is a contributing factor as to why so many people are skeptical about your home business opportunity.

image

When home business entrepreneurs hear such skepticism, it causes even them to doubt whether or not this industry really works. The industry works if you work. You don’t need another business, you need to go to work. You don’t need another marketing platform, you just need to build relationships first and stop bringing up your business unless asked. We throw up on people and haven’t even established rapport. Don’t seek to recruit everyone you contact. It’s okay just to be friends.

image

In conclusion, this is why most people are so skeptical about your home business opportunity. Handle yourself professionally and stop begging, chasing and convincing. It really doesn’t work.

Stop Begging Prospects To Look At Your MLM Opportunity

stop begging images

When we first get started in MLM, we want everyone we know to look at our business. We know we have a goldmine because our sponsor said so. So we hunt people down to the point that even our friends don’t want to be bothered anymore. This is because the light bill is due and the gas bill too. We are behind on the mortgage, and bill collectors are calling. Nevertheless, we beg and beg until someone says, “ok! I will look at your stinking business!”.

Where did this begging mentality come from? It came from desperation. MLM is the light at the end of the tunnel. It is a ticket to personal and financial freedom. In network marketing, you can do things that you could never do with a job. Yet, we continue to beg prospects to see our presentation. Network marketing requires you to handle yourself from a position of power. You don’t want everyone in your business. You only want people who are committed to the process of practicing a few disciplines consistently.

Stop begging prospects to look at your business. You have the goose that lays the golden eggs. When you beg potential business partners to look at your business program, you are coming from a needy position. When people sense that, do you know what they say? They say NO!! Instead of you disqualifying them, they disqualify you.

In conclusion, stop begging prospects to look at your MLM opportunity. If you convince them to join you, you will convince them not to quit. Begging makes you look like an amateur salesman, not a professional net worker.

Much Success,

Network marketing Still Requires The Human Touch

the human touch images

In a world of advancement, technology has made it easier to do business. Now, you can reach millions of people with one email. You can blast a marketing campaign to a billion individuals. This can be accomplished with a single click of a mouse. The old school way of doing network marketing required you to pound the pavement, do home/hotel meetings and cold calling. These ways still work.

In the information age, you can market to prospects from the comfort of your own home. Although this method is ideal for many net workers due to time constraints etc, it does not compare to meeting someone in person. Network marketing still requires the human touch. It is a business that is built on relationships. Even though technology enables you to connect with people faster and more convenient, it can not replace the human experience.

Robots are being created by corporations to take over jobs that were once held by humans. This is done in an effort to reduce expenses and boost profits. What a shame it is to put profits over people. Especially when it is the people who contributed to the profits in the first place. Nevertheless, there is nothing like the human touch. Technology can not replace trust. Nor can it substitute love or respect. When you physically network with like minded people, you will feel a sense of community and belonging. Your life will be enriched through personal connections. Because of this, you will achieve greater success.

In conclusion, network marketing still requires the human touch. It is the only business that you get to work and fellowship with people who share similar interests. People want to know that you are a real person. This will cause people to want to join you and be a part of what you are doing.

Much Success,

Calvin Moss
